Better Exceptions

1. Information We Collect

Better Exceptions may sometimes collect certain information when exceptions occur in the game. This collection is virtually identical to uploading your Better Exceptions report to our discord for support purposes. Generally no personally identifiable data is collected. This privacy policy exists solely to disclose that personal data may be collected if personal data is used to name relevant files, such as your mod file paths. We do not make any attempt to tie collected data back to an identifiable individual.

This information may include:

Timestamp of when the exception occurred.
The mods folder path.
Exception details, such as errors, stack traces, and context information (i.e. installed mods).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected by Better Exceptions solely for the following purposes:

Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with the mod.
Improving the performance and reliability of the mod.
Providing support to users experiencing issues.

3. Data Storage

The information collected by Better Exceptions is temporarily stored on our server for diagnostic and telemetry purposes. In general, no personally identifiable information is stored. This policy is here solely to cover the possibility that personal data may be included if it's attached to relevant info such as mod files. This data is removed shortly after it is uploaded and is not stored permanently. As all data is automatically deleted well within the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) response-time guidelines, there is no need to request access, correction, or deletion of your data. We never sell or share any personal data with third parties.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data collection practices or applicable laws. We encourage you to review this policy periodically for any updates.
